Principal's Report

Term 4, Week 5

Dear Parents and Carers,

Term 4 is absolutely flying by as we get closer to the end of the year! The school is certainly a busy place at the moment as the teachers begin work on the end of year reports and our students begin gearing up for the transition to 2024. I am hopeful that within the next couple of weeks we will be able to confirm class structures and teachers for 2024. We will begin advertising this week for classroom teachers, so if you know of any teachers who may like to work at our wonderful school, encourage them to get in touch with me!

Crazy Hair and Sock Day

This Thursday, all students are invited to come to school in their craziest hair and sock combinations as we raise money for Catholic Missions. Normal summer uniform is to be worn, however students can go as crazy as they like with hair and socks for a gold coin donation.

Remembrance Day Prayer Assembly

This Friday, all families are invited to our Remembrance Day Prayer Assembly under the COLA commencing at 10.15am. Our Week 4 awards will be presented, followed by our school band performing a couple of musical pieces,  followed by our prayer at 10.45am.

School Advisory Committee

The School Advisory Committee is an important parent committee for our school community. The group provides the parental perspectives on a range of different strategic plans for the school. Membership is for two years and members are not able to be re-elected for any more than two consecutive terms. We are currently seeking three new members for 2024 to replace outgoing committee members. Please contact me if you would like any further information on becoming involved in this important parent committee.

End of Year Presentation

Our Presentation Ceremony will this year be held during the day on Wednesday 13 December at the Crossing Theatre, commencing at 10.00am. All families are warmly invited to attend, however parents of students receiving an award or recognition will be sent a letter prior to the event. We appreciate that hosting this event through the day makes it harder for parents to attend, however we have taken into consideration the size of our school community at the moment and being able to fit everyone in to the auditorium, as well as trying to reduce the number of late night events for our students and families at a busy time of the year.

New Primary Play Equipment

There was a buzz of excitement last week as our new Primary Play Equipment was constructed. Mrs Cath Nalder, in conjunction with our school student representative council, organised, designed and raised funds for the new equipment. There are also four new bench seats as an extra seating area for our primary students. This week, the softfall will be placed under the equipment and hopefully our primary students will be able to enjoy the new equipment before the end of the week.

Colour Run

Registrations are now open for students for our 2023 Colour Run, being held on Friday 1 December. All funds raised from the Colour Run will go towards the construction of a shade cloth over our new Primary Play Equipment.

Have a great week!

Nick
