Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for demonstrating one or more of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday, during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

For your motivation and independent learning skills, as you have shown a wonderful drive to grow as a writer in our classroom. You have been working so hard to create beautifully detailed stories with matching drawings, and use our classroom resources to help you grow your learning. It is amazing to see how you independently challenge yourself by using our Bump It Up wall to make your writing even better every single day. Well done, Amaira!

Sarah

For being a collaborative learner who has a positive attitude and is excited to learn new things! You listen carefully to feedback and use it to get even better every day. You’re a great team player, always ready to help your friends and work together with others.   Keep-up the great work Sarah!

For being a wonderfully creative thinker in writing. You bring a fantastic imagination to our classroom and share beautiful, imaginative ideas during our group writing sessions. You can use describing words to make your sentences more interesting and engaging, showing a strong sense of creativity in your thinking. You also love expressing your ideas through detailed drawings, adding rich meaning to your stories. Thank you for sharing such wonderful ideas with us, you are a creative and inspiring member of our class. Well done, Ayva!

For being a motivated learner, last week you stayed focused in all our lessons, pushed yourself to do your best, and kept working hard even when routines changed and another teacher was in the room. You are always kind to your friends and we love having you in our class, keep working hard Kuir!

For being a learner who consistently demonstrates resilience and high expectations in the classroom. You stay focused during lessons, listen carefully to instructions, and complete your work across all learning areas to a high standard. This is evident in your Maths activities and detailed information report, where you confidently share meaningful ideas.

We especially appreciate your resilience when you restarted your information report slides without complaint and continued to produce excellent work. You also show kindness by always helping and supporting your peers. We are very proud of your effort and positive attitude towards learning.

Chhaz

This award is presented to Chhaz for the amazing effort he has shown this week as a motivated learner. He has been consistently ready for learning, arriving first to the carpet and engaging positively during carpet time. Chhaz also shows great initiative by asking for help when needed.

A highlight this week was his outstanding reading during the Prayer Liturgy on Friday, where he spoke with confidence and pride.

Thank you, Chhaz, for being a wonderful role model of a motivated learner.
