Year 5 Incursion

Our Economics and Business Incursion

In our Economics and Business incursion we learnt so much and had so much fun! 

First we met Danny, our incursion instructor. He taught us about needs and wants and explained the daily basics of money.

Next we played a  fun game, everyone had to stand on a dot and pick up a one hundred dollar bill that was on it, the money was how much the dot was worth. It was like musical chairs but with no music and chairs. Danny rang a bell and then everyone walked around. When we were busy walking around Danny took a few dots away, and then we had to find a dot quickly while the bell rang. At the end of this game one person won!

Lastly, we played another game which taught us about supply and demand through building and selling houses. We had a supplier and a consumer. The supplier sold lego blocks to the teams who had to build different structures for each round.  We then had to decide which site might sell our houses for the best price, due to location. There was a red, green and blue team and there were three rounds. The team with the most buildings in the best location won! Making a profit is tricky!
