Senior Campus News

Congratulations to Our Cross-Country Competitors!

This week, we proudly congratulate our students Indi, Brax, and Xavier, who represented our school at the 2025 Hume Region Cross Country event held in Benalla. Each student demonstrated determination and perseverance as they tackled the challenging 3km course.

A huge thank you to Matt, Mel, and Michelle for supporting our students on the day. Well done to all involved — we are incredibly proud of your efforts and the way you represented Banmira!

Real Schools Professional Learning Recap

This week at the Senior Campus staff engaged in another valuable round of professional learning with Kirsty from Real Schools. The sessions focused on deepening our understanding and implementation of restorative practices, with opportunities for classroom observation, team teaching, and collaborative reflection.

It was fantastic to see staff actively participating and reflecting on how restorative approaches are being embedded into our daily work with students. A big thank you to everyone for your openness, engagement, and commitment to our ongoing culture of growth. Let’s continue to focus on one key strategy as we move through the remainder of the term — whether it’s building your affective language, reinforcing positive behaviours, or strengthening your stored response bank.

AFLW Visit Inspires Senior Campus Students

Last week, Senior Campus students were treated to a special visit from a Carlton AFLW player. The session was a fantastic opportunity for students to hear first-hand about the journey of a professional athlete, the importance of persistence, and the value of healthy lifestyle choices.

Students asked thoughtful questions, participated in activities, and demonstrated our school’s values through their respectful and enthusiastic engagement.

A big thank you to Matt for organising the event and to all staff who supported its success. It was a truly inspiring experience for our students!
