Student Learning Culture and Growth

As we begin Term 4, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to our Senior Students who recently participated in the Unit 3/4 trial exams. Held over the school holidays, these exams spanned five days, covering 31 subjects, with an incredible 651 exams completed. Your dedication, perseverance, and focus during this critical period demonstrate the commitment needed for success. This commitment is a testament to your hard work and focus as you edge closer to the finish line—the final VCE Examinations.
With the trial exams now behind our Senior Students, it’s time from them to focus on preparing for their final VCE Examinations. Senior Students need to be reassured that our College staff and teachers are here to support you every step of the way, right up until you sit your final exam. Continue to reach out for guidance, feedback, or extra help where needed. Ensure you make time to practice exam-style questions, seek feedback from teachers, and maintain a healthy balance of rest and study to stay focused in preparedness for the weeks ahead.
Some Senior Students are already underway with their final VCE Examinations including the VCE Music Exam, held last Saturday, and the Japanese Oral exam which will be held on the 21st October, followed by the commencement of the English exam on Tuesday 29th October.
All the very best to our Senior Students, and please know that our community will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
The Marist-Sion College VCE Units 3 and 4 ‘Soiree’ will take place at the College Hall and Marian Theatre on Thursday. This exciting evening provides our Unit 3 & 4 students with a platform to present their creative works—outcomes of many hours of imagination, learning, dedication, and persistence. It highlights the care and effort they have devoted to transforming their ideas into reality.
The evening will feature outstanding works across a range of creative disciplines, including Visual Communication Design, Drama, Studio Arts, Musical Performances, Creative Art, and Product Design and Technology (Wood). Students in these areas, along with their parents, guardians, and carers, are warmly invited to attend and celebrate their hard work and creative achievements. We look forward to a wonderful event filled with inspiration and artistic expression.
As we continue throughout Term 4, planning is well underway for the Marist Sion College Presentation Night – ‘An Evening of Excellence’. This will be conducted at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Thursday 28 November and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of our students who have made both the College and their parents, guardians, carers, families and teachers proud.
We look forward to coming together as a College Community throughout this term to celebrate student success.
