Catholic Identity and Mission

The Catholic identity leaders recently attended the annual Catholic Identity and Mission Leaders Conference, with leaders from the other DOSCEL Schools. There is great collaboration and friendship amongst these leaders and a real generosity when sharing resources and wisdom from other schools. One of the processes we engaged with was Phase 2 of the Diocesan Consultation.

Bishop Greg Bennett is genuinely keen to hear from the broadest reaches of our Diocese to respond to two key prompts:

  • What do we think the three greatest strengths that our people, parish communities, and the Diocese of Sale should continue to build on?

  • What are the three greatest challenges we now face as people of faith, as parish communities, and as a Diocese as we look to the future?

These are really big questions, ones that we are not used to be asked or maybe spend much time thinking about.

Over the coming couple of weeks, we are going to reframe these questions and ask some of our students to respond. Students don’t have to be Catholic to have insight into strengths and challenges, so the classes who are involved will not exclude non-Catholic students. We are a community of people who want to engage in dialogue, so that everyone can be a part of healthy conversation and problem solving. Sometimes the clearest perspectives can be from those observing from the sidelines.

We have our Mass of Gratitude coming up next Tuesday. Please ensure that your child is wearing their full school uniform including blazer for Mass.

It will be a big day for the Year 12 students, and we look forward to celebrating with them.
