MAX FM NEWS
Just a reminder to tune into MAX FM each fortnight to listen to two of our Year 6 students present the St Francis Xavier’s school news live on air. All students in Year 6 have the opportunity to participate in this great activity. Two students are rostered on once a fortnight of a Thursday at 9.15am to deliver the news to Narrabri and surrounding communities. This is a great experience for the students which assists with their public speaking skills.
The next installment of our news is this Thursday!
OLYPMIC FEVER
Olympic fever has hit Narrabri and with good reason! Well done to superstars Shannan Davey and Laura Gourley for your achievements so far at the 2024 Paris Olympics. You have both been an inspiration to our community and filled Narrabri with pride and excitement.
Shannan is a past student from St Francis Xavier's and the staff have been sharing fond memories of his time at our school. We are beyond proud to witness Shannan’s accomplishments and watch his dreams come to life!
The students have also been getting into the spirit by completing a fun variety of activities and artworks in class. 2C designed their own Olympic torches out of cellophane!
We also look forward to the daily medal updates from Mr Frend at assembly.
Last Friday we showed our support for our local Olympic heroes by having a Green and Gold Dress Up Day. Students enjoyed coming to school dressed in green and gold clothing and adding some fun accessories to their uniform for the day.
STAGE 3 - CREATIVE ARTS
Stage 3 has commenced a new Creative Arts unit this term exploring the world of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) art. For this week’s activity they used one of the simplest materials - paper! This hands-on unit has sparked creativity and curiosity among our students, transforming ordinary paper into extraordinary sculptures. The students are not just learning about art, they are also developing spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.
Last week our young artists created 3D paper cacti!
WORLD PRINCIPALS' DAY
We celebrated Mr Frend last Friday for World Principals’ Day with a special morning tea in the staffroom. Thank you, Mr Frend!!
