Celebrating Our Lunar New Year Competition Winners
Our school community came together in vibrant style to celebrate Lunar New Year this term, and we are thrilled to congratulate the outstanding students who took part in our whole-school competition.
In the Junior School, students impressed us with their creativity, care and attention to detail in the colouring competition. Well done to all our junior entrants for showcasing such fantastic artistic talent!
In the Senior School, students put their knowledge to the test in our Lunar New Year trivia challenge. Participants demonstrated impressive understanding of the traditions, history, zodiac cycle, and cultural significance of this celebration. Congratulations to our senior winners for their sharp thinking and excellent general knowledge!
Thank you to all students and staff who participated and to Ms Yu who organised this celebration. We are very proud of the way our students embraced the spirit of Lunar New Year - with creativity, curiosity and respect.
Bravo to Grammar 7 – A Whole-School French Moment at Assembly
With confidence, energy and plenty of enthusiasm, Grammar 7 students took to the stage to perform l’alphabet français.
What made the performance truly special was the way Grammar 7 involved the entire school. Before long, students and staff alike were joining in and attempting the French sounds together. The assembly hall was filled with laughter, encouragement and a genuine sense of community learning.
It takes courage to stand up in front of your peers, let alone lead a whole-school assembly in another language. Grammar 7 rose to the challenge beautifully and impressed everyone with their teamwork, preparation and confidence.
Félicitations, Grammar 7!
Experience the Magic of French Cinema in Sydney
We encourage all families to consider attending the Alliance Française French Film Festival, screening in Sydney.
This annual festival is one of the largest celebrations of French cinema outside of France. It showcases a diverse selection of contemporary French-language films - from heartwarming family stories and uplifting comedies to inspiring true stories and beautifully animated features for younger audiences.
For students learning French, attending even one film can make a real difference in confidence and curiosity. It shows them that French is not just a subject at school - it is a living, vibrant language spoken around the world.
We highly recommend checking the program to find a family-friendly session and making a special outing of it. Amusez-vous bien au cinéma !
