Education Week at Launch – What a Celebration!

What a fantastic week it has been at Launching Place Primary School as we celebrated Education Week together as a community!

Across the week we opened our doors to families, grandparents and special friends, showcasing the learning, connection and joy that fills our school each day. One of the things that makes Launch so special is the strong partnership we share with our families, and this week was a wonderful reminder of just how valuable those connections are for our students.

Our Teddy Bears’ Picnic for potential 2027 Preps was once again a huge success, with a wonderful turnout from families and plenty of smiling faces enjoying time together.

We also loved welcoming so many parents, grandparents and family members into classrooms for our Maths Open Afternoon. It was fantastic to see adults and students working side-by-side, playing maths games, solving problems and engaging in learning together. Mathematics has been a major focus for our school and it was wonderful to showcase the enthusiasm, thinking and confidence our students are developing in this area.

And of course today’s Grandparents and Special Friends Day was, as always, an absolute hoot!  There is something incredibly special about seeing generations gathered together in classrooms, sharing stories, laughter and learning experiences. It was lovely to catch up with so many familiar faces who have visited us year after year as grandchildren have moved through the school.

For some families, this may have been their very first Grandparents Day at Launch, while for others it may have been their last as students prepare for secondary school and new adventures ahead. Either way, we were so grateful to have you join us and help make today such a warm and memorable celebration.

A huge thank you to all staff for the care, organisation and energy that goes into events like these, and to our students who represented our school so proudly throughout the week.

Education Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate not just learning, but community  and this week Launch certainly did that beautifully.

Parent Wellbeing Survey Reminder

A reminder to families that our Term 2 Parent Wellbeing Survey remains open. Even when there are no immediate concerns, this information is incredibly valuable in helping us understand how students and families are feeling and where additional support, connection or check-ins may be beneficial.

Your feedback helps us respond proactively and continue strengthening the supports we provide across our school community.

If you haven’t yet completed the survey, we would greatly appreciate a few minutes of your time.

A Few Impending Winter Reminders

The colder mornings have certainly arrived! Please remember to send students along with warm jumpers and jackets each day. We are also officially moving into beanie weather and we all know students love an excuse to rug up before school and during recess and lunch.

For our more adventurous Launchers who enjoy fully embracing outdoor play, it can also be very helpful to pack a spare change of clothes in school bags. Winter playground adventures and muddy patches do occasionally go hand-in-hand!

As always, please ensure all clothing items are clearly named so they can find their way back home again if misplaced.
