Celebrating Our Education Support Staff,  Reports and EBA Negotiations

Celebrating Our Education Support Staff

At Drysdale Primary School, we are incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful team of Education Support (ES) staff who make a meaningful difference in our school community every day.

Last Friday, we took the opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the outstanding contribution of all ES staff across our education system.

Our Education Support team includes staff who work closely with students in classrooms, our hardworking office staff and Business Manager, and those supporting student wellbeing. Their care, dedication, flexibility, and commitment help create a positive and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.

We thank our ES staff for the important role they play in the daily life of our school.

If you see one of our Education Support staff members, please take a moment to share your appreciation and say a big “Thank You” for all they do.

Reports and EBA Negotiations

You may have seen or heard through the media that the Australian Education Union has been in negotiations with the state government and the Department of Education regarding the new Victorian Schools Agreement.

These negotiations have now progressed to an in-principle agreement, which means current work bans have ceased.

As a result of the earlier industrial action, Semester One reports will look slightly different this year. Mid-year reports will include an overall dot point assessment for each subject area taught; however, overview statements and teacher comments will not be included.

This means that Parent/Teacher Interviews at the beginning of Term 3 will be particularly important, as they will provide families with the opportunity to receive more detailed and specific information about their child’s progress, achievements, and next steps for learning.

Please keep an eye out later this term for information about how to book your Parent/Teacher Interview. We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support during this time.
