LITERACY: Sight Words, learning to read

KB are excited to begin learning to read. They have been learning about letters and how letters make sounds. They have also learnt that letters can be bumped together to make words and words are then used to make sentences. They have commenced reading sight words, both in class and at home. In class, they revise the sight words and then put them into sentences to read. They make sure each sentence has a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. 

SCIENCE: Weather, making pinwheels

In Science, they have been looking at the weather and how it impacts what we eat, wear and do. They have conducted a science experiment to observe how rain is formed and last week they made pinwheels as part of their experiment about wind.
