DIOCESAN YUGA-LI YULU-GI WESTERN CLUSTER DANCE GROUP

Seven of our Stage 3 students are excited to be part of the Diocesan Yuga-li Yulu-gi Western

Cluster Dance Group. Last Friday, they travelled to the Dhiiyaan Centre in Moree to join dancers from Diocesan schools in Moree, Walgett and Wee Waa. This was their first of three group rehearsals in preparation to perform at the Catholic Schools NSW Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education Conference in Tamworth in October.

The rehearsal was under the guidance of the amazing cultural performers from Yulugi Marumali and Milan Dhiiyaan.

The students were very enthusiastic during the rehearsal and represented our school with pride. Thank you to Miss Maddy, Mr Hynch and Miss Squire who accompanied the students to Moree.

INITIALIT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Mrs Craig, Miss Verrier and Mrs Creighton recently participated in a two day video conference workshop relating to the InitaLit reading program. This is the third year this great program has been in place at our school as it was introduced to our Year 2 students when they were in Kindergarten.

The main objective of the course was to provide our staff with the best tools to assist our students with reaching their full potential in regards to reading and spelling.
