Aboriginal Community News
This week, our Aboriginal students in years 3 and above were fortunate enough to attend the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival at Playford Tennis Centre. Here, our students got to learn some basic tennis skills, meet Aboriginal students from other schools, and learn some Indigenous culture and symbols.
Highlights of the day included an educating Welcome to Country by Cliffy from Kuma Kaaru, decorating their own boomerangs with symbols they had learned (thanks Southern Cultural Immersion), and of course a sausage sizzle!
I would like to thank the City of Playford, Tennis Australia, and the Playford Tennis Centre for organising and sponsoring this fantastic event.
I would also like to give a big thank you to Mrs Michael for registering our school and organising the logistics, and to Mrs Robinson who came with us and made it possible for us to go.
Stay tuned for more Nunga news later on this term!
