Principal's Report
Dear Rockhampton North Special School Community,
Hi everyone,
This fortnight, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible work of our Guidance Officer, Troy, as part of Guidance Officer Week. Troy plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and learning of our students. From helping navigate complex behavioural and emotional needs to guiding staff and families through supports and plans, his contribution touches many corners of our school. Thank you, Troy, for the calm, expert guidance you bring to our community every day.
We’d also like to warmly invite all mothers and significant others to our Mother’s Day Celebration on Thursday, 9th May. Join us for a lovely morning of connection and appreciation as we recognise the important women in our students’ lives. There will be a light morning tea and a few special surprises from the students — we’d love to see as many of you as possible. 💐
A big thank you to all the families, staff and students who participated in the ANZAC Day march last week. It was a moving and respectful occasion, and we were proud to see our school so well represented in honour of those who served.
Finally, on Friday 9th May, we’ll be joining schools across Australia in recognising Do It For Dolly Day. This is an important day to raise awareness around bullying prevention and kindness. We’re encouraging all staff and students to wear blue on the day to show support and stand together for a kinder world.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. It’s what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
Warm regards
Dehlia
