Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

We’ve had a wonderful last couple of weeks from a “Celebrating Community” perspective, and I’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate these with you.

First of all, our Bunnings BBQ on Sunday 2nd November – so well supported by parents and staff alike, and to raise over $2800 is such an achievement. I’d to once again reiterate my thanks to everyone who contributed to this successful fundraiser.

Last week we sent two teams off to division cricket, and from all reports, both teams represented BNPS well displaying our school values all day long. The boys won all four of their games with the girls’ team taking out wins in two of their four games. We are so proud of these students and the way they carried themselves on this day.

On Monday of this week our Year 5/6 Students participating in Stand-Up (SUP) training. The Stand-Up Project (SUP) is a student leadership and empowerment program that reduces discrimination, harassment and bullying through student-designed and delivered Upstander Training. The program prioritises student voice, agency, and leadership. As an extension of this session, 24 of our Year 5 students were trained as SUP Leaders who then got to teach the teachers all about SUP and what it stands for in a staff meeting after school. This was a fantastically interactive session, and the students did such a fabulous job of pitting the teachers as students. These leaders are running a similar session for our parents (YOU) next Tuesday at 5PM in the Hall. We’d love for you all to come along to support these student leaders and hear all about SUP and how our school is embarking on a journey of making all our students UPSTANDERS!

One final highlight to share from this week was attending the Remembrance Day Service at the Shrine of Remembrance on Tuesday. It was a great honour to be there and for our captains to represent our school community with respect and reverence. The weather didn’t stop us!
