Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 3 to our students, staff and parents. I hope you had a restful holiday and are ready for an action packed term. As much as I enjoyed my extended break, it has been great back. I appreciate all the support from our team here at APS in ensuring the school ran smoothly for those last weeks of term. Seeing the Socceroos in action live was

an amazing experience, and I loved hearing that our APS community got in the World Cup spirit as well. Congratulations to 2A, who were supporting Spain in our school World Cup tournament!

100 Days of Prep - 100 Days Brighter

On Tuesday we celebrated our Preps 100th day of school at Albanvale PS. From their first day, Prep A and Prep B (Prep Amazing and Prep Brilliant as Ms Sepulveda says) took to the Albanvale way like they had been coming here for years. It's been a joy seeing them grow into the awesome students they are today, and look forward to the next 1,230-ish to come. 

To celebrate the students and staff dressed up as what they would like to be when they grow up (or for staff, what they wanted to be when they were in Prep). It was fun to see what they aspire to be. Interestingly none of the teachers were dressed as teachers...though was over the moon to see Annie in Prep B come as a teacher!

NAPLAN Results

Last week, students received their individual results for NAPLAN 2026. Students in Grades 3 and 5 undertook the assessment this year, and their results are benchmarked against students of the same age across the nation and state. Congratulations to all of our students for their efforts in the assessments. Shortly I will be able to share our school's results, with comparisons to similar schools in our area and across the state of Victoria. Needless to say, the commitment to excellence from our teachers and students is shown in full. I look forward to sharing more on this in the coming weeks when the State level information is released.

Prep 2027 - First round enrolments closing next week!

Even though we have only just finished celebrating our 2026 Prep's100th day of school, we are well into preparing for our 2027 Preps. First round offers will be made next week for those who have already expressed their interest. If you are yet to, please make sure you get in touch with the office as soon as possible. Enrolment numbers have been high as we remain a school of choice in the area. We are looking at opening another class to meet this demand and to keep our class sizes smaller. These places will go quickly, so if you know of anyone looking to enrol, or have a younger child starting Prep next year, please make sure you pre-enrol as soon as possible. You can do this on our website, or in the office.

Our school readiness program has been such a success we've had to increase the days we run it. Our excellent educators run the program for those pre-enrolled for Albanvale next year to help get them ready for school, as well as give them a head start with their literacy and numeracy. These free, one hour sessions are purposefully kept to small numbers to allow each future student the support they need to ease their transition to school. Matching with our enrolment demand, the spots in these sessions are almost filled.

If you have a child due to start Prep next year (or know someone who does) I strongly encourage you to pre-enrol as soon as possible so they can experience the fun and the Albanvale advantage of Little Learners. Tours are also available for those who want to learn more about to the Albanvale Advantage - just contact the office to organise a time.
