State Cross Country

Congratulations to Edwin Bentley (Year 10) on his outstanding performance at the SSV State Cross Country Championships held last week at the Yarra Valley Racecourse.

Competing in the 16 Years Boys 5km event, Edwin finished an impressive 8th place in a highly competitive field of 82 runners. In an exceptionally close race, he completed the challenging 5km course in 16 minutes and 36 seconds, finishing just 20 seconds behind the race winner.

This is a fantastic achievement at the state level and reflects Edwin's dedication, determination, and hard work.

Well done, Edwin! We are incredibly proud of your achievement.

Sport: Term 3

Welcome back to another action-packed term of sport! We have a busy five weeks ahead, with a large number of Brentwood teams competing at the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) level. We look forward to celebrating our students' achievements and hearing about their performances throughout the term.

Our Junior and Intermediate students will also compete in Monash Division round robin competitions in Basketball, Table Tennis and Hockey. Students involved should keep an eye on their Microsoft Teams sport channels for information about selection trials, training sessions and competition details.

Our Interschool Athletics Carnival will take place in Week 8 on Friday, 4 September, and we look forward to another fantastic day of competition.

A big thank you to the students who returned their borrowed team tops after the holiday break. We are still missing a small number of tops, so if you have one at home, please return it to either the Main Office or the PE Office as soon as possible.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved this term, and we encourage all students to participate, represent Brentwood and enjoy everything school sport has to offer. We can't wait to see what this term brings!
