From the Principal

Term 4 is already underway, and there is plenty to look forward to as we head towards the end of another busy and rewarding year at ARPS!
Term 4 - A Term of Learning and Celebration
There is certainly no shortage of exciting experiences planned for our students this term! From the Year 3 Sleepover, Year 4 DOXA Camp, Celebration of Song, Student Wellbeing Day, the annual Swimming Program and all the transition activities, there are many opportunities for students to learn, connect and create lasting memories. We will also be celebrating our Year 6 students with their Special Luna Park Day and Year 6 Graduation, along with our Foundation - Year 5 end-of-year Awards Assembly and our whole school final Reward Day. Please continue to check our newsletters and Sentral notifications for updates, reminders and important information about upcoming events.
These experiences are an important part of school life, providing students with opportunities to build friendships, develop independence, challenge themselves and celebrate their achievements.
Welcome Back Lauren Chanter
This term we are delighted to welcome back our Occupational Therapist, Lauren Chanter, following her family leave. Lauren brings valuable knowledge, experience and expertise to our school, and we are very pleased to have her back working alongside our teachers, students and families to support student learning, development and wellbeing.
ARPS Day – Recognising Every Staff Member
On Tuesday 6th October, we celebrated ARPS Day, a special occasion dedicated to recognising and thanking every staff member across our school and kindergarten.
While there are many opportunities throughout the year to acknowledge particular roles within education, we wanted to establish a celebration that reflects what makes ARPS unique: the collective contribution of ALL staff! Every staff member plays an important role in creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where our students can learn, grow and thrive.
Our Year 6 Student Leaders did a wonderful job leading the special assembly. They delivered a message of appreciation and presented certificates to staff across both the school and kindergarten. A particularly touching highlight was a video featuring messages from our students and parents, sharing their gratitude for the care, commitment and support they receive from our staff.
It was a meaningful opportunity to pause and acknowledge the people who make such a difference in the lives of our children each day. Thank you to our Student Leaders, students and families for helping make ARPS Day such a memorable celebration of our staff and the strong community we share.
Year 3 Sleepover – An Exciting Adventure Awaits!
Our Year 3 students are eagerly anticipating their much-loved sleepover this Friday, 16th October. For many, this is a highlight of the year and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time with their peers in a different setting while building confidence, independence and friendships.
Students will arrive at 6:30pm, ready for an evening of games, challenges and team activities. The fun will continue with a movie and popcorn, followed by bedtime stories, Milo and biscuits before settling in for the night.
On Saturday morning, students can enjoy some relaxed board games before sharing breakfast together, with cereal and toast on the menu. A reminder that the school gates will open at 8:30am on Saturday, and all students must be collected by 9:00am. Please refer to the Sentral notice for the full details and any final reminders.
We hope our Year 3 students have a fantastic evening filled with laughter, fun and special memories!
As we look ahead to the remainder of Term 4, I am excited about the many opportunities we have to learn, celebrate and finish the year on a positive note. Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive families and students for the part you each play in making ARPS such a vibrant and caring school community. I look forward to sharing a wonderful final term with you all.
