Performing Arts Update - Alice the Musical Wrap-Up
What a fabulous night we had at Robert Blackwood Hall last week for Alice the Musical! We are incredibly proud of every student who took to the stage and helped bring Wonderland to life.
A school production is about so much more than learning songs, choreography and lines. Throughout the journey, our students demonstrated courage, resilience, teamwork and kindness. They supported one another, worked towards a shared goal and, along the way, built friendships and a wonderful sense of community.
A special congratulations to our Year 5-6 Main Ensemble Cast, who committed to seven months of rehearsals during lunchtimes and snack breaks. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow and see friendships develop across the two year levels.
We are incredibly grateful to our families and parent helpers for the countless hours spent painting, sewing, gluing, creating and supporting their children throughout the production.
A very big thank you to our St Pat’s staff, particularly our Specialist and Leadership Teams, for their flexibility and support in making rehearsals and performances possible with minimal disruption to our daily learning programs.
We are also so grateful to everyone who worked behind the scenes. A special thank you to Mrs Jen Brown, who has been involved in every stage of the production journey, and to our core Production Team of Mrs Ann Easton, Mrs Liz Lamb and Miss Millie Harris. Thank you also to Mrs Kathryn Ady, Mr Danny Benoiton, Mrs Joelle Diakrousis and Mrs Courtney Day for their invaluable help with props, sets, logistics and make-up.
Productions like this only happen when a whole community comes together and generously shares its time, energy and talents.
Thank you to everyone who was part of our Alice the Musical adventure. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed creating it with our students!
Community Update - Reading Buddy Program
On Monday, 1KA walked across to Mentone Childcare and Kinder to share some books and stories with the students.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our Year 1 students to practise their reading skills, share stories and enjoy conversations with the younger children. Here are some of their thoughts about the experience:
