Sacrament of Confirmation 2026

Gallery Image

The Sacrament of Confirmation is an important step in the faith journey of a baptised Catholic. It completes and strengthens the grace first received in Baptism, deepening the person’s relationship with God and their connection to the Church community.

During Confirmation, the bishop lays hands on each candidate and anoints them with the Sacred Chrism, saying, “Be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.” Through the Holy Spirit, those being confirmed are strengthened to live as followers of Jesus and to share their faith with others.

For our Year 6 students, Confirmation is an opportunity to reflect on their faith, recognise the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives and consider how they can use these gifts to serve others. We ask our school community to keep these children in your prayers as they receive this special Sacrament and continue to grow as full members of the Catholic Church.

Our next Youth Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 5th September at 6pm. This special Mass aims to provide greater opportunities for children and young people to actively participate in the celebration of the Eucharist. They will be encouraged to take part in various ministries, including readers, commentators, choir members, musicians, and other supportive roles.

We warmly invite children, youth, and families to become involved in this meaningful initiative. It is a wonderful opportunity for our young parishioners to grow in faith, share their gifts, and feel more connected to our parish community.

Mini Vinnies - Food If You Need It!

Our Mini Vinnies students have been working hard on a wonderful new initiative. As a part of our mission to ‘love one another’ Mini Vinnies are asking families to double a recipe to help others. Families who might be in need, will be able to take a meal from the freezer. At various times we may all need a hand, and with the cost of living impacting everyone, this is an easy way to help others in our immediate community.

A big thank you to the Parents Association for their fundraising, which has paid for a freezer to store the food.

What to do if you would like to offer your cooking services (you don’t have to be a fantastic cook). The Mini Vinnies students wish to freeze pre-cooked meals such as pasta, stews, casseroles or anything you love to cook that can be frozen.

  • Email Andrea Dowling to express your interest in helping: adowling@htws.catholic.edu.au
  • Your name will be added to a spreadsheet and you will be contacted when it is your turn to cook. Please use a container that you don’t need back and place a list of all the ingredients to the lid as well as the date the meal was prepared.
  • Donations will be delivered to the office and taken to the freezer.
  • As soon as we have a few meals stored we will inform you how to collect a meal if needed.
