From the Acting Principal

Bonjour tout le monde,
Tomorrow at 1pm school finishes for all students for the term.
We have had a wonderful time together in Term 3 and we are all so proud of the growth our students have shown inside as well as outside of the classroom.
I know I am really looking forward to Term 4. As a teacher it is very rewarding to witness the 'growth over time' we see as we complete final assessments and for students there is the excitement of moving up a year level or even on to high school! Our Year 6's have an exciting time ahead with all of their end of year and graduation activities and during the months of October and November we also get to meet our incoming 2026 Prep students!
Last day of swimming tomorrow.
This week has been incredibly busy with swimming every day for each class as well as specialist classes. For some students (like our Preps) going on a bus has been the highlight of their day! We are very thankful for the quality teaching provided by the swimming program at Camberwell Grammar and I would also like to thank our teachers and LSO's for the amazing coordinated effort they have put in to keep the students moving and in and out of the pool on time every day!
Confirmation Faith Day
A reminder to our Year 6 students that their Confirmation Faith Day is on the second day back at school Tuesday the 7th of October. On this day the students will come to school in free dress (all Year 6 students) and will be involved in learning activities in preparation for them receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on the 21st of October.
Year 5 and 6 Human Development - Parent and Child sessions
A reminder to our Grade 5 and 6 parents that we will be hosting an online workshop with Sue Pain (About Real Life) on Wednesday the 8th of October at 7.30pm- please mark this is your diaries. A link will be sent to your by your child's classroom teacher prior to this day.
Sun Smart and Hats
It's times to get out our sun hats again. As a SunSmart School students are required to wear hats from September through to April whenever they are outside. Please make sure your child has their St Bede's school (only) hat at school next term, students without hats will be required to remain under the shade in the amphitheater during playtimes.
Please note: students are still wearing their winter uniform for the remainder of Term 3 and by the end of Week 1 Term 4 they must be in full summer uniform. In week 2 our school photo day is on Tuesday the 14th of October -summer uniform is a must for school photos!
Class Structure 2026
As we are working on our class structure for 2026 may I ask you to please email Ms Murphy (kmurphy@sbedesbn.catholic.edu.au) or your child's teacher if your child will NOT be returning in 2026 and state which school he/she will be attending.
MACSSIS Survey
Lastly, can I please ask if you haven't done so already could you please spend some time (30 mins max) completing the MACSSIS Survey for our school?
There is ONE DAY to go in the survey and so far a minimal number of families have responded. The average response time to complete the survey is 10 minutes.
If you can't find your email or pin code please email me and I will send them through to you.

Kindest Regards
