Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Update

As members would be aware, the Australian Principals Federation recently received an initial offer from the Department of Education. Following careful consideration by the APF negotiating team, this offer has been formally rejected.

In short, the proposal did not meet the expectations of our membership, nor did it adequately reflect the complexity, scope and increasing demands of the principal role. As a result, we remain firmly committed to pursuing the key priorities outlined in our Log of Claims.

Importantly, negotiations are ongoing. We remain at the table with the Department and continue to engage in good faith discussions aimed at securing a meaningful outcome for principal class employees across Victoria. Our focus is clear: to achieve an agreement that recognises the contemporary realities of school leadership and delivers tangible improvements for members.

The APF negotiating team is approaching this work with a disciplined and strategic focus. We are advocating strongly, consistently and with the backing of the profession.

We anticipate being in a position to provide a more detailed and comprehensive update early next term, once further discussions have taken place.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support and professionalism during this period.
