Plenty Parklands Has Talent

Our school community once again came together yesterday for a fantastic celebration that was Plenty Parklands Has Talent. The gym was full, with close to 1000 people (students, staff and parents). The 10 acts did an amazing job and the student leaders judging, hosting and organising showed what a talented bunch we have at our school. 

Congratulations to all participants and a big thank you to Ms Thomas, Ms Gioules and Ms Laucirica who coordinated the event across the whole term. 

3 Way Conferences

This afternoon we begin of parent-teacher conferences from 3:45pm. These continue throughout Friday (students do not attend school other than for their own interview). Please ensure you are showing our school values when interacting with your child’s teacher. If you have any major issues, contact the office and the staff will schedule a time for you to debrief with me. Please note that I have requested that our senior staff each sit in on random sessions and observe our teachers as they share academic progress with families. This gives non classroom teachers a great insight into the relationship between teacher and parents and the importance of a shared approach to educating children.   

Holiday Projects

We have lots of improvements happening over the two-week break. The year 5/6 boy’s toilets will be renovated. The year 4 classrooms will be painted and fitted out with new joinery, window furnishings and new pinboards/whiteboards. 

We are also replacing many of our shade sails that are ripped or damaged after 20 years of service. As is usual practice, our staff will be onsite in the second week, planning learning and setting up classrooms as they prepare for Term 4. Please note that the office will not be open so any communication will need to be via the school email address. 

Staffing News

We have a couple of changes leading into Term 4 that I wish to share with the school community. Ms Stephanie Hemsley heads off on Maternity Leave this week. We wish her and her family well at this exciting time. Stephanie will be replaced in 3-30 by Mr Nick Hull who is an experienced teacher joining us from Wallan Primary. Nick will teach in 3-30 on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On the last two days of the week, he will cover eLearning and some graduate release time to replace Ms Stephanie Madi, who also begins her Maternity Leave early in October. Good luck Steph!   

Planning for 2027

Our planning for next year is well underway. I have met with all teachers individually to review 2026 and share ideas for 2027. Nearly all current teaching staff plan to be or would like to be teaching here next year. A couple of staff currently on leave have communicated their desire to return. To assist with this planning process, please let the office know asap if your child is unlikely to be a student at PPPS in 2027. This information is vital to work out our class structure going forward. 

End Of Term

We have had another productive term, full of teaching and learning. Thank you once again for your support as we strive to provide the best education possible for your little ones.
