Mr Butts' Announcements

Gr 3-6 students with the visiting Essendon AFLW players

Every minute matters!

Congratulations to the 81 students who were at school for 95% (3 days or less absent) of the first semester! These students receive a congratulatory letter from myself and a special certificate presented at assembly. Well done to these students and their families for making attendance a priority!

Grandparent's Day Friday 26th July

We are looking forward to welcoming our grandparents and special friends to St Mary's on Friday for our annual Grandparent's Day.  Classrooms will be open from 9am - 10am where the children will share their work and take part in fun activities.  At 10am we will all gather in the Marian Centre for a special concert in honor of our grandparents!

Join us for a cuppa & a light morning tea following the concert.

New Principal Process

The process to appoint a new principal for St Mary's is well underway. Shortlisting is currently taking place and all staff and parents/carers were invited to provide feedback for the appointment panel and the incoming principal.  An announcement regarding the result of the process will be made mid term 3.

NAIDOC Week

The children enjoyed celebrating NAIDOC week with a variety of activities and events. The culminated with a showcase on Friday where the students shared their learnings  and celebrated the aboriginal culture. Thanks to Tahlia who organised the footy jumper design competition which many students entered.  Congratulations to Shyanne Monshing, Roohani Singh and Lily Church for their winning designs!

See the Bombers fly up!

Last week we had a visit from Essendon AFLW players Sophie Alexander, Alex Morcom, Kodie Jacques, and Amelia Radford. There was a Q&A with the students and also had a kick to kick on the oval.

Breakfast Club Donation

A big thank you to the Golden Oldies (ex St Mary's parents group) who once again have donated some much appreciated funds to our breakfast club. Our breakfast club is open to all students from 8:30am in the morning.

Bingo Committee Donation

A huge thank you to the Parish Bingo Committee who have recently donated $2500 to our wonderful school. This would not be possible without the small group of Parishioners & school families who help run Bingo each week. If you can spare some time on a Saturday to help out please contact Maree Williams on 58252584 or 0438084364.
