DIOCESAN RUGBY UNION TRIALS & GARY McSWEENEY CUP

Well done to the 11 boys from Stage 3 who attended the Gary McSweeney Cup in Tamworth on Friday 31st May.

The team played very well, winning two of the three first round games progressing them to the semi finals! 

The semi finals were a close game resulting in a draw against St Xavier's in Gunnedah however they did not make it into the finals on the day.

The Diocesan Rugby Union Trials were also held on this day. Well done to Ezrah Watene, Harrison Tout, Archie Greenaway and Angus Irwin who were selected into the Diocesan Rugby Union Team to play at the Polding Trials in Forbes at the end of the term.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL INFORMATION

Information for our annual Athletics Carnival was sent home last week.  

This year it is being held over 2 days.

Thursday 27th June 2024 (field event finals) at ST FRANCIS XAVIER’S and 

Friday 28th June 2024 (track events) at the NARRABRI HIGH SCHOOL OVAL 

Please see below information for each day.

THURSDAY, 27th June 2024  - FINALS OF LONG JUMP, HIGH JUMP AND SHOT PUT as                                                             well as the INFANTS CARNIVAL AND BALL GAMES 

LOCATION: St Francis Xavier’s School Oval

TIME: 9.30 am

UNIFORM: Children are to wear full sports uniform, including hat

CANTEEN:   The School Canteen will be operating for LUNCH ONLY.  Orders are to be placed using the Compass APP or paper bag option.       

The events will then be followed by Grandparents Day activities. Please see the attached.

FRIDAY, 28th June 2024   -   TRACK EVENTS  -  70m, 100m, 200m and 800m

LOCATION: Narrabri High School Oval

TIME: 9.00 am

UNIFORM: Children are to wear full sports uniform, including hat 

The children will need to make their own way to  Narrabri High school on Friday. There will be teachers supervising at the High School from 8:30am – please do not drop your child off any earlier.  

The students will be transported by bus back to St Francis Xavier’s at 1.00pm (approximately).

CANTEEN:  There will NOT be a Canteen/BBQ available at the High School.  Please ensure your child has a packed recess and water bottle.

The St Francis Xavier’s Canteen will be operating for LUNCH ONLY.  Orders are to be placed using the Compass APP or paper bag option. 

The day will finish with a presentation which will be held at around 2.30pm at ST FRANCIS XAVIER’S.
