From the Principal
Term 4 – Week 6
Welcome to Week 6 everyone. We are now halfway through the term and have so much more to look forward to in the last half of this term. I am away this week (Monday-Thursday) in Brisbane for Professional Development. While I am away, Mrs Savill will be at Moonie Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Swimming
Thank you to Bruce for all his work at keeping the pool available for us to swim in each week. We are continuing our swimming lessons with Miss Lucy until Week 9.
Friday the 14th of November – Kookies v Emus swimming carnival. Start time for this carnival is 2pm. Students will attend school as normal and then walk to the pool after lunch.
Friday the 21st of November – Small Schools Swim Carnival at Moonie State School. Start time for this carnival is 8:45am
Spelling Bee and Public Speaking
Congratulations to Zach, Caleb, Annie and Justin who attended Westmar State School and participated in the event. They represented Moonie wonderfully in the presentations of their Australian Bush poems and spelling their words.
Tennis
Tennis starts this week with Michael Lloyd. The dates for tennis this term are as follows:
Tuesday 11th November
Wednesday 12th November
Tuesday 25th November
Wednesday 3rd December
Remembrance Day – 11th November
On Tuesday 11th November students will pause and reflect for one minute at 11am. They will participate in ‘Draw to Remember’ an activity to acknowledge Remembrance Day. Students will select pictures and symbols to draw using chalk on the concrete at school, illustrating the sacrifice of those who’ve served in the Australian Defence Force since World War I.
Transition Days
Kindy and Prep Transition days continue in Week 6 for Kindy and Week 7 for Prep. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again for the third transition day.
