Today is the seventh and last week of Kitchen Garden for 3/4M.  They have been a delightful group who have always been eager to learn new skills and try the various flavours our food offered.   Each of the students were given a 3/4M recipe book to take home and use.  It contains all the recipes we have made together.  I hope it can inspire some home cooking with your family and provide the students with confidence to try new things.

Student Reflections:

Steryios - Today I made pumpkin soup. I have tried it before when I was little and I did not like it but over time your taste buds change so I might like it.

Aria - Today, I peeled a pear and squeezed lemon for the crumble.  The crumble mix was hard to stir.

I helped blitz pumpkin soup. I like cutting pears.

Emilia - This afternoon my group made pear crumble. The other groups made pumpkin soup, broccoli salad and some dip. It was really, really fun. In fact it is my new favourite subject and I'm looking forward to trying all the new foods. Next week is the last week which means after next week we have no more cooking lessons for the whole entire year and most of us will miss cooking very, very much!

Gabriella - Today I made pumpkin soup! I cut up carrots and pumpkin and I peeled potatoes!!!  How fun, right!

Annabelle - Today we had SAKG again but this was our second last week.  I’m actually in grade 4 so I only have one class left. Today I made pear crumble. It was dessert. I have never had a pear crumble, but it smelled great and looked good too.

Gia - Today I made pumpkin soup and I cut a crust and peeled a carrot.  I peeled  a potato.

Atticus - To day at SAKG I made the bread which was pineapple crumble I have never had this before so I am excited to try it because I usually like the bead, and today I think I will like it to just like the other days I had to get the peelers I like to have my mum with me at cooking.

Marisol - Today at SAKG we made pumpkin soup with carrot, spring onion potato, and of course pumpkins. I am also super sad cause it is the second  last week and I am in grade 4. This is going to be my second time cooking and yes I am so sad. I hope I will enjoy my second last meal and the others too. Oh and I also smelled delicious food too.

Hayden - Today I made pear crumble.  I made the crumble with oats , butter, brown sugar and flour. It smelled really good.

Thalia - Today I made pear crumble and peeled the pear but the juice went in my eye and spread the butter. I can't wait for the food! It was really fun cooking. It was the best!

Alena - Today I made a broccoli salad and sadly I am not going to have it but I will try it and if I like it I will have more. Sadly it is the second last week and I won’t do SAKG until next year and I am going to miss SAKG. And I know that there is pumpkin soup and my friend Brianna helps me but I mostly help her.

Brianna - Today l made a salad. Sadly it is the second last week that we are going to cook.

I cut a few vegetables. It smells so good.  Also my friend Alena helped me a lot. I am looking forward to eating it.
