Visual Art

Year 9s' Oil Painting - Workshop with Scott Breton

Our Year 9 students embarked on a sophisticated exploration of realism in an exclusive full-day oil painting workshop led by artistic expert, Scott Breton. Unlike their usual classroom experiences, this workshop offered a unique opportunity to work with oil paint transcending the ordinary classroom acrylics.

Under Scott's expert guidance, students refined their tonal painting techniques, focusing on portraying objects with precision and depth. With a nuanced understanding of tone, they acquired essential skills for creating lifelike representations. This workshop wasn't merely instructional - it was a refined exploration, enriching our students' creative and technical artistic journey.

Year 8 Art Adventure - Incursion with Wendy Winsley

Our lucky Year 8 students embarked on an immersive journey into the vibrant world of Fauve painting techniques, guided by the talented local artist, Wendy Winsley. It was a day filled with inspiration and creativity as Wendy shared her invaluable insights, techniques, and personal experiences as an artist. Students were not only mesmerised by her expertise but also had the opportunity to receive constructive feedback on their own assessment pieces, making it an enriching experience for all. This almost draws us to the end of our semester’s unit ‘Seeing, Knowing and Feeling - A Colourful History.’

Arts Day

Congratulations to all students who participated in the House Dance, House Song and a range of workshops throughout the day.  We are pleased to announce that the Overall House Champion for Arts Day is Radcliffe. A shout out to their performance of ‘Walking on Sunshine’, which was executed with commitment, focus and excellent vocal tone.  Well done to all Houses who performed with energy and enthusiasm.
