Athletics Carnivals

At the end of last term, we proudly held our Track and Field Athletics Carnivals, which were a tremendous success, thanks to the favourable weather on both days. It was fantastic to see so many students enthusiastically participate and try new events. Many were delighted to discover the skills they had developed during our PE lessons, showcasing their talents with great confidence.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated staff and office team for their hard work in making the carnivals possible once again this year. Special appreciation is extended to Miss O’Hara and Mr Osborn for their invaluable assistance in setting up on the day of the track events, as well as to the many teachers who braved the chilly weather to prepare for the field events.

Congratulations to all our athletes who achieved outstanding results in their respective age divisions. A massive CONGRATULATIONS to Harry Sewell who broke the Ben Venue School record for the Junior Boys Discus event. Harry threw a whopping 21.90 metres and now has his name and distance recorded on our school records. Well done Harry!

Our school zone team, comprising 63 students, competed at the Zone Athletics Carnival last Friday in Tamworth. It was a wonderful day and an incredible experience, with students enjoying access to top-notch facilities. Well done to all participants, and best of luck to those who have qualified for the North West Carnival on September 4, 2026.
