Dukes Camp

Summit Adventure at Trafalgar East

Duke of Ed Camp – The Summit Adventure

On August 27th, our Duke of Edinburgh students headed to The Summit for three action-packed days of challenge, courage, and teamwork.

Guided by coaches Mim and Timmy, students embraced The Five Keys: Have Fun, Play All In, Make Lots of Mistakes, Get Uncomfortable, and Don’t Go Home Wondering “What If.”

Highlights included the Cave, Bush Challenge, Leap of Faith, Giant Swing, Mud Run (two laps!), Flying Fox, and Sky Bridge. Each activity pushed students to step outside their comfort zones while relying on trust, resilience, and support from their teammates.

Both groups —showed huge improvement across challenges, with Group 1 winning the Bush Challenge and Group 2 making impressive gains in the Mud Run. Congratulations to our Values Winners, Reno and Ella, along with Brooklyn as the Teacher’s Pick, who all earned a ride in The Summit’s WWII tank!

The camp wrapped up with reflections on gratitude and the importance of bringing The Five Keys back into everyday life. Well done to all students—you represented Rochester Secondary College with pride, energy, and plenty of laughs!
