Library Events 2026

St Johns Park Public School Library – 2026 📚

We are excited to begin another school year filled with stories, learning and library adventures. Our school library supports students in developing a lifelong love of reading and we look forward to sharing many wonderful book moments together this year.

Library Lessons

Library lessons will commence in Week 5, starting Monday, 23rd February, 2026. Students will begin learning how to care for books and enjoy regular library time as part of their learning program.

Library Borrowing

All students who bring a library bag to school may begin borrowing from Week 5.

Students will need to bring a library bag clearly labelled with their name and class to protect the book/s on their journey home.

Adopt-a-Book Fundraiser 💛

Week 4 & Week 5

Our Adopt-a-Book Fundraiser (book sale) will be held in the school library and will be open to students at lunch time.

  • 📖 Cost: $1 per book
  • 📍 Where: School Library
  • 💰 All money raised goes towards purchasing new books for our school library.

These books have been read and loved so much. The books are in need of a loving home.

NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge 2026 ⭐

We are excited to once again take part in the NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge. The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely. The Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is open to all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 10, in government, independent, Catholic and home schools.

  • Challenge opens: Monday, 23rd February, 2026
  • Challenge closes to students: Friday, 18th September, 2026
