Message from the Principal
Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,
I hope that you were able to have a mini recharge over the long weekend. Well done to the EEPS District Cross Country team who competed last Thursday. Despite the wet weather the team displayed a positive attitude and produced some great results.
Thank you, also, to the EEPS community for the support of the JSC led World Environment Day focus on Friday. Besides the different activities, collecting cans for the CDS ($56) we also raised money for the local Food Connect ($620).
Electricity Outage - No Impact
We can confirm that we have had word from AusNet that the planned maintenance power outage in Eltham on the 15th June will not have any impact on the school. Fingers crossed!
Feedback - ‘What will Eltham East look like in ten years’ time?’
Thank you to those families who took the time complete the survey in relation to the next phase of the school’s Master Planning. Whilst in all communities there are different views, it was helpful for us to look for the trends. The first Asset Management Plan will be submitted to the Victorian School Building Authority before the end of term.
Stolen Bike
We received a report from a family that a new bike that was tied up on the front school bike rack, was stolen on Friday afternoon/evening. If anyone has any information about this, please contact the school - thank you.
Scooter Safety
We have, again, been contacted by a member of our community concerned about the unsafe riding of scooters down Luck Street; on the road, and without helmets. From Next Monday 15th June, all EEPS teachers and staff will be asked to confiscate any scooters that are being ridden to or from school without the rider wearing a helmet. These scooters will then need to be collected from the school office by a parent. Safety is too important to neglect. We have already given clear reminders both at Assembly, in the Newsletters, and by speaking to individual students.
Coming up
Year 3-6 Athletics Day this Thursday, 11th June
Have a great week of ‘Learning and Growing Together’.
Kind regards
Warren Lloyd
Principal
