Footscray Community Flyers
Online Safety Parent Carer Workshop
Sat. 13 June, 10:30am - 11:30am
Mission Whitten Oval, Footscray
Western Bulldogs Comminity Foundation
Join us for an empowering and practical online safety workshop, proudly delivered in partnership between the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation and Maribyrnong City Council.
Led by the experts at Body Safety Australia — trusted leaders in eSafety education — this interactive session is designed to help parents and carers confidently support young people in today’s digital world.
Together, we’ll explore both the opportunities and risks of being online, covering critical topics such as online grooming, exploitation, radicalisation, and image-based abuse. Using a child-rights approach, the session also highlights how young people can safely experience connection, creativity and joy in digital spaces, while building understanding around image-based autonomy and digital consent.
This workshop goes beyond awareness — you’ll walk away with practical tools, clear language, and the confidence to have important (and sometimes tricky) conversations with young people about topics like nudes, AI, pornography, social media pressures, and staying safe online.
We are also keen to hear your thoughts on what support is needed by families and how we can work together as a community to help children navigate online spaces safely. We want your ideas and input!
Don’t miss this opportunity to build your confidence, strengthen your knowledge, and better support the young people in your life.
After the workshop, gain free entry to watch the VFL match Footscray Bulldogs v Sandringham at 12 :05pm at Mission Whitten Oval
