Supporting Our Students & Families: Wellbeing Resources for All at BPS.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, both academically and personally. We know that sometimes, outside factors can make it harder for students to focus on their learning and enjoy their school experience. That’s why we are here to offer support in various areas to help families and ensure every child feels well cared for. Below, we share some of the ways we can confidentially assist with uniforms, travel passes, food relief, and community-based organisations that provide additional support.

Uniform Support

We understand that school uniforms can be a financial strain for some families. To ensure that every child feels confident and part of the school community, we offer support with uniforms. If your child is in need of a new or replacement uniform, please reach out to the wellbeing office. We have a selection of second-hand uniforms available, and we are happy to help make arrangements for your child to receive what they need.

Travel Passes

For families who live a distance from school, travel can sometimes be a challenge. We can help with applying for travel passes to make commuting to school easier. If your child requires travel vouchers, please contact our wellbeing office to discuss the process and ensure you receive the appropriate support.

Food Relief

No child should have to worry about going hungry at school. We are committed to ensuring all our students have access to nutritious meals. If you are experiencing difficulty providing regular meals for your child, please let us know. We offer food relief options that include our breakfast program, lunch assistance & food hampers.

Community-Based Support Services

In addition to the resources we offer at school, there are several local organisations dedicated to supporting families in need. These organisations provide services ranging from mental health support to emergency assistance and family advocacy.

  • Mind Connect (Mental Health and Wellbeing Hubs) offers counselling and emotional support for students and families. If your child or family is facing mental health challenges, they can provide a listening ear and professional care. Please contact us for a referral or more information on how they can assist you.
  • Diamond Valley Community Support offers a variety of support for families facing hardship, including financial advice and connection to community resources. They are always available to offer guidance and support, so please feel free to ask for a referral.
  • The Orange Door serves as a gateway to family services, including parenting support. Referrals can be made for children and families experiencing issues impacting safety, stability, wellbeing or development. You can reach out to them directly, or our school wellbeing team can make a referral on your behalf.

If you or your family are in need of any of the resources mentioned above, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact Kate Bonazza who can handle your request confidentially and guide you through the process – kate.bonazza@education.vic.gov.au
