SAPSASA Soccer
After an astonishing result in Term 2 at round one of SAPSASA soccer, the boys team competed in phase 2 of the statewide knockout competition on the 25th of August.
The boys took care of Fulham North in the first game 2-1, in an all round solid team performance. This raised spirits very quickly as Fulham seemed to be the toughest opponents of the day.
The second game was a real fight against Linden Park. Even at full time on 2 goals each, we took a thrilling win in the penalty shootout, showing great composure and team spirit.
This set them up for a huge game 3 vs Holy Family Catholic School; a victory would see them into the final 4 teams.
Magill struck the net first, but two quick goals from Holy Family saw us chasing an equaliser. The boys had to scrap, claw and play desperately to get their way back into the game. Unfortunately, many chances didn’t go our way; most notably, when Ollie Saggs connected with an unbelievable volley that produced a truly spectacular goal line save. It was a heartbreaking way to end a miraculous run. Full credit to the team for their outstanding performance, the best result we have had in years!
