The new Disability Inclusion reforms involve an investment of almost $1.6 billion to ensure that students at every ability thrive at school and in life. Disability Inclusion introduces initiatives to help build knowledge and skills in inclusive education across the school system to increase support for students.
At MPWPS, we are implementing the Disability Inclusion by:
- Employing a Mental Health and Wellbeing leader
- Having staff undertake the Masters of Inclusive Education
- Accessing and delivering professional learning in the area of Disability Inclusion
- Having an on-site Speech Pathologist once a week
- Providing evidence-based guidance and resources to support classroom practice
Our aim is to ensure that our teachers have the skills and knowledge to support all learners that enter their classroom and that all students feel that they can reach their full potential here at MPWPS. Please see a great video outlining the Disability Inclusion model here:

Personal Strengths.
Research in the field of positive psychology
emphasises the importance of identifying and using individual strengths.
We all have strengths, these are the strengths that help us to learn new things, to be fair and get along with others, to help us stay in control of our emotions and behaviour, and to cope with challenges.
Home activity – Ask your child to identify their personal strengths. Some examples of these kinds of strengths include being kind, fair, funny, brave, forgiving, curious to learn, honest, hardworking and generous. Ask your child to consider how they might use their personal strengths to help themselves and each other learn and thrive.
