Giving Thanks and Looking Ahead

As Term 2 draws to a close, we pause to give thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout the semester. It’s been a busy and fruitful time in the life of our school, with so many opportunities for learning, growth, leadership, and creativity across all year levels. As we head into the school holidays, this newsletter invites you to join us in prayer, giving thanks for the term that’s been, and seeking God’s guidance and blessing for what’s ahead in Term 3.

Senior Student Bible Study Leaders

• Refreshment & Growth: Pray for God's blessing on their holidays, that they will be refreshed during the holiday break and continue growing in their faith. 
• Reflection on Term 2: Give each leader the ability to reflect on the term that has happened, gaining insight and skills to help them grow in their gifts.
• Preparation for Term 3: Ask God to provide guidance and discernment as each leadership group prepares their Bible studies for next term.
• Support from Staff: Pray for Mr Petts and Mrs Thompson as they continue to mentor and support the secondary student leadership team in running student groups and delivering FISH talks. May their advice be wise and their encouragement uplifting.

Year 9 & 10 Biblical Studies

• Thankfulness for Resources: We are thankful for the excellent resources and materials that have been used throughout Semester 1.
• Christian Perspectives & Relationships: Pray that God would help students recall what they have learned—especially about finding identity in Christ and understanding the spiritual realities of life from a biblical perspective. Ask that God’s Spirit would stir in students a seriousness about eternal realities, such as heaven and hell, and that many would respond in faith and commit their lives to Christ.
• Acts (PTC Moore College Course): For those students (mostly Christians) undertaking the Acts subject, pray that God would help them grasp the power of the gospel to transform lives and grow His church. Pray they would be challenged to share the gospel boldly and to actively support mission work, with a heart to see classmates come to faith.
• Our Teachers: Give thanks for our Year 9 and 10 Biblical Studies teachers! Pray that their holiday break would be refreshing and that they return energised for Term 3.

Whole School

• Peter Pan Production (Stage 3): Give thanks for the exciting opportunity to stage Peter Pan. Pray that this project builds a strong sense of community and belonging among the students, and that each student feels a sense of ownership and pride in what they create together.
• Pastors Connection Breakfast Give thanks for the special time of fellowship and encouragement shared at our annual Pastors Connection Breakfast. Pray for the ongoing partnership between our school and local churches as we work together to nurture the faith of our students and share the hope of the gospel with families in our community. Thank God for the pastors who joined us, for their continued support and prayer, and for our Student Ambassadors who warmly welcomed our guests.

• School Holidays: Pray for rest and rejuvenation for both students and staff over the break.
• Safe Travel: Ask God for safety for all those travelling during the holidays.
• Staff Conference: As staff gather for professional development and planning ahead of Term 3, pray that the conference will be a productive and encouraging time of preparation for the semester to come.
• Year 12 Students: With HSC exams drawing nearer, pray for focus and endurance for our senior students as they approach the end of their coursework and begin preparations for their final assessments.
• Secondary Play: Praise God for the creativity shown through the recent Secondary Play. Thank Him for the talents on display and the way students could express themselves.
• End of Semester: Thank God for the term that’s been. Pray that student reports would reflect true progress and growth, and that upcoming Parent/Teacher Interviews would be productive and encouraging times of partnership.

Staff

• Dean de Rooy We give thanks for Dean de Rooy and his faithful service at our school. Please pray for him as he begins a new chapter with Fire and Rescue NSW.
• Julie Schipp After 24 years of dedicated service, we celebrate and thank God for Julie Schipp and her enormous contribution to our school community. Pray for her as she transitions into what’s next.
