Mother’s Day Stall

We had an amazing response to our Mother’s Day stall this year, with over 1000 items purchased by our students, who were so excited to organise something special for their loved ones at home.

Not only did we see fantastic support from our students, but we were also fortunate to have a full roster of parent helpers who did an outstanding job assisting students with their purchases. While making a profit isn’t the main goal of our stall, we’re thrilled to share that we raised nearly $1,500. These funds will go directly towards our next exciting project in the school yard.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed—and Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers and carers in our school community!

Year 5 Camp

Our Year 5 campers returned today from a highly successful stay at the Forest Edge Camp. Mr. Poyser and his team of staff ensured that the 90 students had a great experience. Thank you to the staff involved, the parents that gave up their time, and well done to our students who were fantastic in the way that they showed our school values. Even the camp venue manager commented on how exceptionally well behaved our students were!

Prep Playground

As you read this, the new Prep/Year 1 playground is being installed. This week, the demolition team has captured our students’ excitement as they removed the entire existing playground. Many of your children took the chance to watch these developments across recess and lunch time. The company involved are advising us that the installation of the new playground will be completed in the next ten days.

Facebook - Enrolment

We are currently in the middle of a busy period with our 2026 Prep enrolments. We have had over 125 families tour our school. We have also had a large number of enquiries from families wanting to enrol their children in year levels other than Prep.

In response to some comments made on Facebook about Plenty Parklands not accepting enrolments, I’d like to clarify that we accept all enquiries for students living within our school zone. It is families from outside our zone, seeking enrolment in year levels that already have classes of 25 students, who are often redirected to their local school.

Parents Working with the School

In recent days, I have worked through several student matters alongside concerned parents. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank those families who have been willing to collaborate with me to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students. I also want to acknowledge the parents who have been open to working with classroom teachers or Year Level Coordinators, rather than requesting to speak with the Principal as their first step. While I will always make myself available to meet with families when needed, it’s important to remember that the people best placed to support your child are often those who work closely with them every day.

Riding to School

After our Year 4s completed their Bike Education Program in Term 1, we are keen to see as many students as possible ride to school, if that is an option chosen by their parents. If your children ride a bike or a scooter to school, please remind them that we do have the bike shed for storage. Please also remind them of the importance of riding safely, exiting their bike and walking it in once they have entered the school grounds.

Recently, I had a neighbour contact the school with some concerns about PPPS students on bikes being unaware of the dangers caused by cars coming out of their driveways. Please share this with your child, if they are one of our students that ride to school.
