Principal's Message

Cultural Diversity Day

Thank you to our students, families and staff for coming together to celebrate last week’s Cultural Diversity Day. We recognised and explored culture in classrooms, by sharing the ‘My identity’ family profiles and engaging with our Curiosity Corridor. The highlight of the day was our whole school assembly which was a celebration of culture through stories, music and dance. A special thank you to Visual Arts teacher Ms Pulbrook and Languages teachers Qing Liu and Yan Ping Xue for leading this significant whole school event.

Parent Teacher Interviews

We will be holding parent teacher meetings at school in Week 10 - Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th June from 3;45pm-5:45pm .  These important meetings allow families and teachers to discuss students’ strengths and areas for improvement and growth. We value these opportunities to work in partnership with families to support students' learning and wellbeing. In the coming weeks, we will provide further information so that you can book a time to meet with your child’s teacher on Compass.

Learner Profile & Celebrating the learners

This term, students will focus on demonstrating the value of Responsibility across all areas of their learning and behaviour. They will be encouraged to take ownership of their actions, complete tasks to the best of their ability, and show accountability for their choices both in and beyond the classroom.

So, how do our school values and Learner Profile attributes work hand in hand? Our school values reflect what we believe is important, while the Learner Profile attributes describe the qualities and attitudes we strive to develop in our students,  who we are and how we interact with others. Together, the values and Learner Profile are embedded within our school culture, helping to create shared expectations, strengthen positive behaviours, and foster international-mindedness.

In alignment with the PYP Learner Profile attributes, students will be reflecting on themselves as ‘principled’ and ‘thinkers.’ Students will be supported to reflect on their learning, consider different perspectives, and apply critical and creative thinking skills in order to show the value - responsibility. We will be taking time to acknowledge individuals’ strengths and set goals through Student Awards acknowledgements.

Walk Safely to School

Last Friday was Walk to School Safely Day which recognises the health benefits of walking to school. It reminds us to make  smart choices as a pedestrian and when driving near schools.

This includes using the designated pedestrian crossings when walking to and from school. This is also a reminder that students and families should not walk through the staff carparks in Shepherd Road and Lori Place
