Principal's Report

Welcome to the home stretch of Term 2! With the winter weather well and truly set in, the focus in classrooms remains high, and it has been a pleasure to see students maintaining such a positive attitude despite the chilly mornings.
Semester 1 Reports and Parent Teacher Conferences
Our Semester 1 reports will be released to parents via Compass on Tuesday, 16th June. These reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment. However, as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union, full descriptive comments may not be included.
While the written comments have been impacted, the assessment and moderation behind the reports remain unchanged. I want to take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge the significant amount of time and effort our staff put into this process. Assessing, moderating, and accurately tracking student progress is a massive undertaking, and our teachers have worked incredibly hard to give you a clear, accurate picture of your child's achievement.
While the report provides a clear snapshot of this progress, our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences are the perfect place to further discuss your child’s progress. We value the partnership between home and school, and these meetings are the best opportunity to sit down together, discuss how your child is tracking, celebrate their successes, and share their learning goals heading into Semester 2.
Conferences begin next Wednesday, 17th June, and will also run on Thursday 18th June, Wednesday 24th June (running until late), and Thursday 25th June. Please ensure you read your child’s report prior to your meeting so we can make the most of our time together.
If you haven't booked a time yet, please log in to Compass to secure your spot.
Mid-Year Soiree
Our next exciting event is the Mid-Year Soiree on Thursday, 11th June. The evening begins at 6:00pm in the gym, and I encourage all families to come along and support our music program. Our 'Friends of the Band' have also arranged an amazing raffle and auction for the night.
- Training Band
- Concert Band
- Symphonic Band
- Guitar Ensembles
- Choir
We are really looking forward to seeing as many people in the audience as possible to support the kids!
District Cross Country
A massive well done to all 13 of our students who represented the school at the District Cross Country at Ruffey Lake Park last week. It was a tremendous effort by everyone involved, and it was great to hear how students supported each other on the day.
District Team: Alexa W, Ariel L, Charlie H, Charlie R, Harry R, Jessica K, Lizzie B, Max B, Max S, Nate S, Phoebe C, Valerie Y, Zoe R
A further congratulations to Charlie H (2nd), Charlie R (4th), Max B (3rd), Max S (2nd) and Phoebe C (7th) who qualified for the next stage and are heading off to the Regional Cross Country meet at Yarra Glen Racecourse tomorrow. We are all incredibly proud of you for qualifying, and we will be cheering you on all the way!
Cyber Safety Project Incursion
Last Wednesday, we had the Cyber Safety Project out to speak with our Grade 3 to 6 students. The Grade 3 and 4 session was all about finding balance, managing screen time, and understanding how apps and games keep us hooked. The Grade 5 and 6 students focused more on the social side of the digital world, looking at how to manage peer pressure, use privacy settings, and handle tricky online situations with integrity. It was a really worthwhile morning and an important part of making sure our kids have the tools to stay safe and responsible online.
School Readiness and Enrolments
As a quick reminder following these sessions, we are currently accepting enrolments for our 2027 Prep intake. Applications are completed online via the VicStudents website:
For new enrolments:
