Reflection

Today all of the students and staff members celebrated Mass as today is the feast of the Holy Cross. The cross is the symbol for the way Jesus defeated sin, hatred and death. Christians are signed with the cross when they are baptised and also when they are buried. Christians also mark themselves with the Sign of the Cross at the beginning and end of prayer. The Sign of the Cross shows our willingness to follow Jesus and our joy at being part of his family.

Prayer

Lord, we see in this cross

a sign of your great love.

May the cross be our comfort in trouble,

our shelter in the face of danger,

our safeguard on life's journey.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

First Reconciliation and Confirmation

At the moment we have five students from St Patrick's who will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Friday 20th October after Mass. The preparation program commenced earlier this week.

Also, there will be five students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday 5th November. Part of the preparation program has already been completed as this was part of the Religious Education Unit of Work that was covered by Mrs Davey and Mr Hyatt during the first half of this term.

Due to Mr Hyatt being at Moree for the large majority of the week so far, the five students who are eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation will continue with further preparations next week instead of this week as previously advertised. The program will revise all of the concepts covered in the teaching unit previously taught as well as further extend the student's understanding and practicalities involved with the receiving of this sacrament.

If you have any questions/queries regarding the Sacrament of First Reconciliation or the Sacrament of Confirmation, please feel free to contact Mr Hyatt.
