Year 5-6 Canberra Excursion
What a trip!
The previous week proved to be an exceptional experience for the majority of our Year 5-6 students during their visit to Canberra. They had the privilege of meeting Barnaby Joyce and touring the various training facilities at the Australian Institute of Sport. Unfortunately, significant portions of the Australian War Memorial are currently undergoing renovations, which limited access to many exhibits; nonetheless, some members of our group managed to navigate their own self-guided tour. Despite this, the week was replete with memorable moments. The students relished the diverse games and activities available at Questacon, minted their own one-dollar coin at the Royal Australian Mint, observed a thylacine at the National Museum of Australia, and even rolled down the roof at Parliament House. I must improve my technique for the next occasion. This merely scratches the surface of our activities, and I am confident that the students will cherish the wonderful memories created, even if they were somewhat displeased when I insisted they pose for photographs in front of the Canberra Raiders Stadium.
I would like to extend my gratitude to all the students who contributed to making last week a remarkable experience; it was a privilege to accompany each of you, even though I spent a small fortune buying McFlurries. I also wish to express my appreciation to Mrs. Davey for her numerous sacrifices that enabled her participation. Additionally, I am thankful to all the parents who made the significant effort to ensure their children arrived at school early on Monday morning, allowing us to depart punctually. Your support is greatly valued.
Below are some photos recounting all of the highlights that were had last week.
