Canteen
Canteen Helpers Desperately Needed!
Regrettably, we find ourselves in a predicament where the coordinators of the school's canteen are having difficulty securing sufficient volunteers to cover all the positions on the roster necessary for the canteen's operation every Monday and Friday. If anyone is in a position to offer assistance, we kindly request that you inform the school.
Things to keep in mind when working as a volunteer in the canteen
To ensure the canteen remains compliant in food safety, please remember the following:
- Wear gloves when dealing with food - keep changing gloves as required
- Wash hands regularly and use paper towel to dry hands
- When opening goods (eg butter) please clearly write the date that the item was opened in black texta.
- Ensure all benches are wiped down and sanitised before leaving
- Sweep and mop the floor after every shift
Standard 3.2.2 A guideline for school canteens
Please keep your receipts
Please remember to keep receipts for any purchases made for the canteen.
There is a pink box in the canteen for receipts.
Please place receipts from IGA, Foodworks or Cross Bros. Butchery in here please.
Compass Canteen
Families are able to order and pay for their children's lunch orders online through the Compass App.
If you have any trouble using the Canteen feature in Compass please feel free to read the guide below or send Karen an email on krizzi1@arm.catholic.edu.au
A few things to remember:
There is a $0.20 fee per transaction.
Cut off time for online ordering is 9:30am on the day of canteen. This allows plenty of time for the administration side of things to be completed before our volunteers arrive.
Ordering online is optional but preferred as it limits cash handling. If you still wish to place an order on a brown paper bag, please try and enclose correct money as change is limited due to majority of students using the online ordering option.
Baskets will be placed outside the canteen for teachers to distribute to the students.
Please be assured that frequent hand washing, wearing of gloves and regular safe food handling practices will be adhered to at all times.
