Dear Parents and Carers,

It is all happening here at St Joseph's School!  Our Book Week celebrations went off with a bang today starting with our Book Week Parade in the SPA Centre.  The children looked absolutely fantastic in their costumes.  Special thanks to all the Parents and Carers for putting in such a great effort to make it a special day for the children.  Thanks also to Mrs Di Hendriks, our Librarian Extrordinaire for all she contributed to the day and to our wonderful staff for preparing lots of fun activities for the children.

We have also recently held our Mini-Olympics, Potato Olympics and our Foundation Welcome Pizza Night.  We are looking forward to our Wellbeing Expo, Hoop Time and our Father's Day Celebrations.

While all of this has been going on, the staff and students still find plenty of time for explicit learning and teaching in Literacy and Numeracy.  They are also actively involved in their Inquiry Learning units, Religious Education and their many Specialist Areas.  It is any wonder the children are all so exhausted by the end of the week and so are the staff!

Father's Day Celebrations

Thanks to the 33 Dads who responded to our survey. The format for the event is based entirely on the survey feedback:

Format: Afternoon/Early Evening Celebration

Activities: Tabloid Sports, Footy Clinic and Learning Showcase/Classroom Visits

Dinner: Barbecue

We are looking forward to a great afternoon celebrating Father's Day with our Dads and Kids.

We will be seeking feedback from the Dads on this changed format, following the event.  This will help us decide whether to continue with this in 2025 or revert to our traditional Father's Day Breakfast.

We will also be having our Father's Day Stall, run by the wonderful parents from our Parents and Friends.  See details below:

No School Bus Wed 28 August

Due to a Pupil Free Day at Upper Yarra Secondary School on Wednesday 28 August there will be no bus service available for St Joseph's Students.

Amelia's First Communion

Congratulations to Amelia who is making her First Communion at St Joseph's on Sunday at 8:30am.  We wish Amelia all the best for this next important step on her sacramental journey and ask you all to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.  Amelia will be supported by her family the Sacred Heart parishioners and a number of staff from the school on this special occasion.  I warmly invite all members of our school community to join us for this celebration.
