Book Week

In August we celebrated book week here at Wollert Secondary College.

Book Week is an opportunity to celebrate and explore literacy in all forms. Young people will often engage in school events to express their interest in their favourite books, authors and genres.

Students were welcomed into the Redgum Learning Centre at lunchtime, to take part and participate in some book week activities.

Daily activities were set up for them to engage in either in groups or on their own.

Activities included

Scavenger hunt - to find words, images or various book genres of books around the Learning Centre.

Design a Book cover

Word Finds

Colouring in activity - making bookmarks.

It was so great to see so many students get involved and participate in the activities. There were many delicious treats for all the participants to enjoy!!!

The students did an amazing job working in groups (some on their own) to complete the activity and make their way around the library looking for titles.

During Book Week we saw many students come into the library and it was amazing to watch how they navigated their way around the space and explore the amazing selection of resources and titles we have available for them here at Wollert Secondary College.

We look forward to celebrating bigger and better in the years ahead.
