To continue on with our Inquiry unit “Our Home" the preps are exploring the important people who help our community.
The students have been learning about the valuable and integral work of doctors and nurses. As part of this learning, we transformed our classroom into a bustling Prep hospital, and we have been amazed by the students’ organisation, teamwork, and creativity.
Within the hospital, students took on a variety of important roles, including a triage nurse assessing how urgent each case was, surgeons performing operations, and staff managing a busy hospital café. Through their imaginative play, students have been confidently incorporating new vocabulary such as “stethoscope”, “surgery”, and “urgent”.
Our hospital cared for a wide range of patients, with ailments ranging from “broken legs” to “snake bites”! It has been wonderful to see the students developing their understanding of community helpers while building communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Come for breaky… second breakfast… or even third breakfast — all are welcome!
Our new Foundation students enjoyed trying out Breakfast Club for the first time and it’s safe to say they absolutely loved it! There were smiles, full tummies and a wonderful sense of community to start the day.
Breakfast Club is a beautiful way to gather, connect and ensure everyone begins the morning feeling nourished and ready to learn.
We look forward to welcoming more students as we continue to grow this special initiative.

Thank you to Bakers Delight City & Plaza who sponsors our St. Mel's Breakfast Club!
