Today, our Year 3–6 students took part in the inspiring PROJECT ROCKIT workshops, a youth-led program that builds empathy, resilience, and leadership. Through interactive activities, real-life stories, and open discussions, students explored topics such as online safety, respectful relationships, standing up to bullying, and using their voice for positive change.
The sessions encouraged students to reflect on the impact of their actions, both online and offline, and provided practical tools to help create a more inclusive and respectful community. It was wonderful to see students engage with enthusiasm, challenge negative behaviours, and leave feeling empowered to lead with kindness and respect.
Last week, during our Curriculum Day, staff also participated in a PROJECT ROCKIT professional learning session. This thought provoking workshop explored different types of bullying and reinforced the importance of being a safe, trusted adult for students who encounter bullying.
We are proud of the way our students and staff embraced these opportunities and thank the PROJECT ROCKIT team for delivering such engaging and meaningful sessions.
"Even small things like joining in on jokes can hurt other people’s feelings – If you see someone being targeted, you can help them by standing up for them or asking them if they want to move to a different space with you" - Amelie.
"The Project RockIt incursion was really fun. It was perfect for dealing with bullying and teaching us about it. When they taught us about bullying they taught us about types of bullying, how to prevent it and what to do if you experience it" - Harry
"The RockIt incursion was really exciting and fun. Our leaders were called Ricky and Riley, they were explaining how to be an upstander not a bystander. We played lots of games that everybody liked" - Abby and Laurinda
This week is National "Say NO to Bullying" Week. At POPS, we are committed to a safe, respectful, and inclusive community. We encourage all students to speak up, seek support, and stand together against bullying. Learn more on our Student Wellbeing page.
Our staff work closely with students and families to address and stop bullying. Together, we can make POPS a place where everyone feels valued and safe.
Thank You for Supporting Our Technology Upgrades
We’re thrilled to let you know that our iPads and laptops and interactive TVs have recently been upgraded across the school. Our teachers and students are already putting them to great use, and the excitement in classrooms is clear to see.
These upgrades, along with our shared laptops, iPads, and mobile interctive TV's, are only possible because of the generous parent/carer financial curriculum contributions we receive each year. Your support ensures every student has access to modern, high quality resources that bring learning to life.
On behalf of our staff and students, thank you for helping us create a well resourced, future-focused learning environment at POPS.
