Good Afternoon Parents Students, Staff and Friends of Derinya,

It has been an exciting fortnight at our school, filled with high-energy events and strong community engagement. Our students continue to shine across all areas of learning and wellbeing, and it’s been wonderful to see families connecting with the life of the school through so many rich activities.

Our Year 1 students have been exploring personal and family history, developing their understanding of how stories, objects and memories link us to the past. This learning came to life beautifully during Grandparents and Special Friends Day, where our young learners proudly shared their work and welcomed guests into their classrooms. The joy and connection in those rooms was a highlight for everyone involved followed by a stunning performance.

Senior school students have also been out and about, taking part in their Beach Days program. These sessions are more than just time by the water they build confidence, responsibility and essential skills in water safety and basic first aid. The students’ engagement and teamwork have been outstanding.

Meanwhile, our HPV team is currently away on camp in Maryborough. This is an exciting opportunity for our riders and pit crew to test their skills, strengthen their teamwork and represent our school with pride. We look forward to welcoming them back and celebrating their achievements.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead.
