Year 9 and 10

As we reach the end of the term and reflect on another remarkable year, we are incredibly proud of the growth, achievements, and resilience shown by our students. Year 9 and 10 are times of discovery, challenge, and connection for students, and it has been inspiring to watch our young people navigate each experience with curiosity and confidence. Thank you to our teachers, families, and support staff for the guidance and encouragement you provide every day—our students thrive because of your partnership.
Year 9
Our Year 9 students have now begun their Year 10 subjects as part of the Headstart program, which has been really exciting. A small number of students are also undertaking accelerated studies, completing a Year 11 subject early to extend themselves academically.
As we look ahead to next year, this is a good time for students to start exploring work experience options for Year 10. Early planning will give students the best chance of securing their preferred opportunity, especially if they hope to have a placement locally or in the healthcare sector.
Year 10
In the first four weeks of the term, the Year 10 cohort finalised their last assessments and completed the curriculum content in each of their classes, before beginning exam revision and exam preparation in the following week. Exams in all subjects took place in week 7, with students completing these to the best of their ability and continuously modelling the College values. Our Year 10 students are to be commended on their conduct during this time; the positive attitude and commitment shown towards the exams was excellent.
Year 10 students also had a final celebration of their year with the formal taking place on November 21. The evening was full of dancing, awards, photobooth sessions and plenty of laughter and smiles. Thank you to Ms Polonidis for her efforts in organising such an amazing night for the students.
Year 10 students also participated in consent education during the Headstart period where they were informed about the laws around consent, what constitutes consent and applied their knowledge during group activities. This is an important part of the curriculum for all students and it was great to see the rich discussions and understanding the students had for the laws associated with consent.
As we finish the year, we hope our students take a moment to recognise just how far they’ve come—academically, socially, and personally. The break ahead is a chance to rest, recharge, and celebrate their hard work. We look forward to seeing everyone return with fresh energy and enthusiasm as we continue building on the strong foundations laid this year. Wishing all our families a safe and joyful holidays.
Warm regards
