Principal Team's Message

Our Assistant Principals reflect on Term Four

2025 has been a year of many accomplishments, achievements, and moments of celebration. Our whole-school focus on providing a challenging and engaging curriculum for our students so they can embrace the opportunities available to them has been driven by the collaborative work of our staff and students so that Sunbury College continues to be a place where students can thrive. There have been so many highlights over the year with sporting events, excursions, celebration days, and our continued community-based work with local primary schools and businesses.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Sunbury College community for the many contributions that have been made, and the fabulous experiences that have come about as a result.

Class of 2025

Over the last few weeks we have celebrated our graduating class of 2025 in a whole school assembly, their run through the school, and our traditional countdown to the last school bell for the students. The annual BBQ for Year 12 students, families, and friends was well attended as we celebrated the achievements, connections, and experiences gained during their time at Sunbury College. The VCAA examinations are now completed and it has been wonderful to hear students reporting so positively about their preparation for these exams; a testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff in supporting them to do their best.

Term 4 Celebrations

Some of the highlights of Term 4 include our recent Awards Night held at Lakeside Banquet and Convention Centre in Taylors Lakes; our assemblies held to recognise and celebrate our ‘Highest Achievers Awards’; many special year level assemblies; our Year 12 Graduation night; instrumental music concerts; sporting events; and celebrating our Arts and Technology student talents in our annual Show Off. We are so fortunate to work alongside such talented and hard-working young people, and the staff who support them to achieve their goals.

Our Headstart program concluded on 5th December, and the energy and attendance throughout the two weeks was outstanding, with students embracing the opportunities to prepare themselves for their 2026 learning. We encourage students to complete the assigned homework and independent learning tasks over the summer break as preparation for success in 2026.

Booklists for 2026

A reminder that booklists for 2026 classes are available on the College website for parents and students to access, and have been communicated to parents via Compass.

All orders for delivery need to be made with Campion by 19th December to ensure students have all their required learning materials at the start of 2026.

Thank you and best wishes

We would like to wish all of our community a very happy and restful festive season and look forward to working in collaboration with you all in 2026.

Warm regards,

Becky Annetts, John Lane, and Fiona Scott-Young
